The Smart Home Will Become Our Benchmark

The Aperion Smart Home is the next generation in energy-saving, cost-saving, healthy living.

As part of Aperion’s Smart Home Initiative, we developed a partnership with the Department of Energy’s Build America Program. The DOE, through one of their Build America vendors (IBACOS), is funding equipment installation and ongoing test of the prototype Smart Home (versus a baseline Energy Star Home) to perform a variance analysis between the two.

Based on spec change and the analysis performed by the DOE, Masco, GWS and Aperion, the Smart Home will be able to offer:

A 40% reduction in the consumption of electricity (50% compared to traditional homes), thanks to the Trinity Thermal smart cooling system
Residents receive a $2,000 federal tax credit for this green home
It includes an integrated home medical device platform – a simple, secure Internet interface that provides instant community-wide information as well as healthcare access
Energy consumption configurations and energy trends analysis
Home automation control over energy profile settings, lights and security features
And it meets/exceeds the DOE Build America Green Home Program Requirements

Surprisingly, the Smart Home only adds minimal construction costs: the increase should be less than $1 per square foot (after the $2,000 federal tax credit).
